Acknowledging Africa was the very first thing we KNEW had to be a HUGE part of The Hollywood Ranch. Jennifer’s husband Heath took a trip a few years ago to a remote place in Nairobi. Upon returning the one thing that truly stuck out about his trip were the thousands of orphans that inhabit this part of Africa daily. No beds, no shoes, shirts, bathrooms, or even grass to play soccer. The attached photos paint a true picture of what these sweet children have to face everyday, yet you’ll notice a shining smile on many of their faces. Just the thought of playing a sport on gravel with no shoes is enough to make anyone lose their smile, but these children continue to shine with the light of The Lord. They do have school which is shown in the photos and if you’ll take a close look in the back ground you’ll see that they are studying God’s word. Just that in itself is a miracle due to the fact that these children are born into many forms of witchcraft/ritualistic views. God’s awesome power is undeniably at work there and we can’t wait to see what else he has in store for this special place. Therefore, it is our relentless goal to start from the beginning giving a portion of our profits to these children. We want to eventually help many others in the effort to build the most amazing orphanage in the most non-amazing place. We joke that we want to build them The Bellagio someday, but the truth is, they just want beds, running water, a chalkboard, books, decent food and clean clothes to put on. The Lord has His Will and His Way and we are SO very thankful that he considers us worthy enough to one day make this dream come true for these children.
